Luke & Nicole

wedding photographyAmanda McDonaldComment

After having rain the day before, Luke & Nicole were lucky enough to have a perfect sunny day for their wedding. Nicole was so calm and composed during the morning, even taking time to tidy up the house before her dress went on. I was very impressed :) With the boys all suited up, they headed off to the church in Luke's beloved car that had to have a starring role in the day.
After the ceremony we headed off to the Fernleigh Track. The bridal party were all good sports when we took a little detour off the track. Walking up little tracks in heels is never fun but they all had a laugh and think it was worth it in the end. I have to give credit to the limo driver who followed us on our walk carrying a plate of food to keep every fueled. We left everyone dancing the night away at the Newcastle Club. It was such a great day, thanks so much for inviting us to be a part of it.

Kayla & Thomas

The weather kept us guessing as Kayla & Thomas prepared to become husband and wife at the amazing Roscrea Estate. And even though it was a bit all over the place it held off at all the right moments. For the most part anyway, we did get caught out briefly as we heading off for Kayla and Thomas' photos... but hey, what can you do! Both of them took it in their stride and never let it dampen their spirits. Despite the weather, the day was exactly as they planned it, relaxed, fun with a focus on family and friendship and we felt honoured to have been part of the day. A HUGE THANK YOU has to go to Alanna from Alanna Kate Photography who photographed with me all day. I couldn't have done it without you!!

Ashley & Alan sitting in a tree...

We really love a wedding that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy and this one was definitely one of those! Watching Ashley and Alan say I do with their daughter, Lottie standing by their side was so special. I think both of us got a bit lost in the moment and for a little while forgot what we were there for! We had such great day and Ashley and Alan sure know how to throw a great party :)

Family and friends obviously are a huge part of Ashley, Alan and Lottie’s life. Seeing how everyone played a role in bringing the day together was such a lovely thing to see. From the hours that everyone put into hanging the hundreds, maybe even thousands of fairy lights up in The Black Box Theatre (it looked amazing by the way) and the carefully put together table decorations to the numerous people who volunteered for jobs.  Everyone pitched in and the day was so much more special because of it.

Originally from the UK, Alan had some of his closest friends fly in to celebrate with the extra special surprise addition of his younger brother who came over just a couple of days before. After spending the day with both of them, we loved hearing the stories of how they met over in the UK during speeches from the ‘English Contingent’.  During the course of the night it became clear that Ashley & Alan know how to laugh and have fun together. After all, they did organise a jumping castle and a Mr. Whippy Van!! It doesn’t get much better than that!

To Ashley & Alan, we hope that you have many many more years of love and laughter… and for now we hope you all enjoy the photos.

Jess & Dave tie the knot

Lara SavageComment

Wrapping up our wedding season for last year was Jess and Dave. They chose the most beautiful location to get married and we were so lucky to have it as our backdrop for the day. Mindarriba House is just gorgeous and the perfect spot for Jess and Dave's intimate wedding with all of their nearest and dearest. With Lara on ‘light duties’ as she looks after her handsome new little man Will, I was incredibly lucky to have had the amazing Alanna from Alanna Kate Photography helping me out for the day. I could not have done it without her!

We had the best day hanging out with the cheeky bridal party (or should I say Groomsmen) who were always up for a laugh and made the day so much fun and we really found ourselves feeling part of the celebration. One part of photographing weddings that I love is getting to know more about the bride and groom through the people who know them best during the speeches. Jess and Dave are such a gorgeous couple and from listening to what everyone had to say, you can easily see that they are such a great match. They are a couple who are truly best friends and will spend the rest of their lives being able to love and laugh together.

Jess styled the whole day herself from her amazing dress to the venue. Her attention to detail was amazing and there wasn’t one thing that wasn’t thought of. It was important for Jess and Dave to have a wedding that reflected them and their style (well at least Jess’s) and involved suppliers and items that had meaning or played some part in their lives.  From their custom designed stationery by Jess and Dave's amazingly talented friend, Ana Zrnic (AZ Designs) that included a logo that paid respect to both of their family names, Lantry and Broughton. To having the pleasure of being married by Father Brian Mascord, a close friend of the Lantry family who has been involved in many of their important family events. So many special things were included in the day that held so much meaning. I absolutely loved the timeless china tea cups and saucers that Jess’s Nanna, Patricia, has collected over her lifetime. And the silver wine goblets that David’s Mum, Josie, and Dad, John, used at their wedding and have since passed down to each of their children to use at their weddings. Towards the end of the night Jess enjoyed an extra special drink of aged scotch that her Grandfather bought for his bar many years ago. This was obviously a moment that they will both remember forever and it was so lovely that we were able to capture it.

We had such a fantastic day. As we left, the dance floor was packed with the guests being treated to the amazing sounds of Crocq (One of Dave's friends from High School) and I knew the night just getting started. It was a great way to end our year of weddings and we are really looking forward to getting back into it with our first wedding of the year in less than a week!.
